THIMUN 2013
By Alexandra Farrell
18th of November.
As the tests around school where winding down, thirteen brave souls ventured out of the city, onto a plane, and into Singapore, for THIMUN, the international MUN conference held in Singapore’s Hwa Cheng Institution. The delegates came in teams of two with our school being represented in the Security Council, Human Rights, General Assembly, and ECOSOC. We arrived on the 18th, fresh-faced and ready for the challenges that will face us in the coming days. Day 1 consisted of shaky hand shakes between delegates, good food, and great debate. During the week that we were there, no only did we see the enormous sights of the school (that supported 4000 students) but also of Singapore itself. With Mr. Salmon leading the way, the students headed into uncharted territory, visiting little India, Crown Plaza and the Tiger waterfall. Overall the week went by fast with students making friends and gaining experience.
